The Scriptural passage for today is found in Psalm 4:4: ” In your anger, do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent.” What God-inspired words from the psalmist David! As we know, in David’s early life, he walked hand in hand with God, heeded His voice, and wrote beautiful and stirring tributes to his Lord and Maker. These are among those outpourings. We all experience anger and feel justified at the time. Yet, we’re admonished to be slow to anger, consider possible repercussions, and “sleep on it,” so to speak. Very sound advice from a future king of Israel and “a man after God’s own heart.” Let us take that advice and apply it to our lives. Let’s be slow to anger and try our best to be silent–with God’s help, of course. Amen!
