Hattiesburg, Miss. – According to the electronic court record, on Saturday, February 17, 2018, U.S. District Judge Keith Starrett unsealed the federal criminal case against John W. Lee, Jr., announced U.S. Attorney Mike Hurst, Internal Revenue Service Acting Special Agent in Charge Ted Magee, and Federal Bureau of Investigation Special Agent in Charge Christopher Freeze.

The electronic court record, documents filed in the case and information presented to the court revealed that Lee previously pled guilty before Judge Starrett on September 22, 2017, to a Criminal Information charging him with filing a false corporate tax return for 2012. The defendant is scheduled to be sentenced on March 14, 2018, by Judge Starrett, and faces a maximum penalty of 3 years in prison and a $100,000 fine.
