Harry Craig McCallum, 75 of Magee, Mississippi peacefully passed from his earthly home to his heavenly home on Sunday, September 24, 2023 at his residence in Magee, Mississippi. He was born Tuesday, September 30, 1947 in Magee, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 302 8th Ave SW, Magee, Mississippi. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at 10:00am at Fortenberry Cemetery, 1828 Dry Creek Road, Magee, Mississippi. Bro. Jeff Hollingsworth will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. 601-849-5031
Harry was a devoted husband to his wife Margie. He loved and cared for several animals in his life time, special acknowledgement to his dogs, Gracie and Hot-Rod. Harry loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing every chance he had. He especially loved to go to the Spillway and fish. He had great patience when hunting and would keep on even when others gave up, and then kill the biggest buck out there. He was a loving husband, father, papaw, and uncle. He will be deeply missed by all those who loved and knew him.
He was preceded in death by his son, Michael McCallum; father, B.F McCallum; mother, Gladys Tebow McCallum; sisters, Joann Warren and Peggy Jane McCallum.
Survivors include his loving wife of 37 years, Marjorie Barrentine McCallum; step son, Robert Cornelius (Theresa); sons, Craig McCallum, Frankie McCallum, Allen McCallum; daughters, Tonya McCallum and Marie McCallum-Akhtar (Mohamad); sisters, Betty Joyce Craft, Sue Bryant (Jimmy), Clara Davis, Myrtice Barrentine; a mess of grandkids, great grandkids, and nieces/nephews.
Pallbearers will be Michael Ray McCallum, Zade McCallum, Jonathan McCallum, Hunter McCallum, Dustin Warren, and Jimmy Warren.
The family would like to say thank you to Brad at Centerwell Health, Debra Devlan at Miller Family Clinic, Jill at Magee General Hospital, and to George Kennedy for keeping spirits high. Also, a special thank you to all those who have stood by our family in this difficult time.
