Halftime was special with a retirement ceremony! Former Magee High School player #14 Harold Shaw’s jersey was retired. Shaw was given a jersey. A sign has been added to the back of the gym with his name, number and year graduated. Magee band performed their halftime show immediately following the ceremony.
Shaw was a standout running back at Magee that would run over or around anyone in his way and find the end zone!
After graduation from Magee, Shaw further his education and football career at the University of Southern Mississippi as a running back. Shaw was drafted in 1998 in the sixth round as the 176 pick to the New England Patriots. Shaw played for New England 1998- 2000. In 2001-2002 Shaw was member of the Grand Rapids Rampage, and in 2007-2008 was a member of the New England Surge.
Per-game Shaw worked the stands visiting former classmates and fans, while also taking time to pose for a picture. Shaw’s family was on hand for the half time presentation.
