Happy Birthday to my precious sister and son-in-law!  I always thought it was so neat they had the same birthday. (February 10th)

I hope ya’ll have a wonderful day and continue to enjoy life!

Linda has become the historian of our family!  If it wasn’t for reminders of past days…my children would miss valuable and interesting family facts!

Tonight,  I will stand on my porch and beat a pan with a metal spoon in
honor and remembrance of our grandmother known as Mother, Ber,
Grandmother, Mrs. Horn, Great Grandmother.  (I always thought that it
was great that the Vicksburg folks caller her Ber.  Sue and I caller her
Mother.
Our Grandmother, Bertha Lillian Caughman Horn, was so much fun as well
as being a beautiful lady.  She loved unconditionally, her favorite
color was red, the cookie jar was always filled with Ber’s tea cakes,
the rocking chairs on the porch were always rocking due to folks
stopping by especially Caughman cousins, the shut ins in Magee were the
constant  recipients of pansies or other flowers from the yard and a
delicious basket of food, her driving days ended when the first driver,
Mary Ruth. started driving but she loved to go,  and she loved New
Year’s.  As little girls, Mother would stay up with Sue and me until
midnight so that we could gather our pans and spoons and head for the
front porch to beat them and shout, “Happy New Year” at the top of our
lungs. What a grand and delightful  grandmother?  Tonight, at some time,
I will be on my porch beating and shouting.  I will be listening for
sounds of shouting and beating in honor and remembrance of Grandmother,
Ber, Mother, Mrs. Horn, Great Grandmother.
Happy New Year, precious ones.  I love you so very much.
Linda

I love and adore these two and wish for them a wonderful day.  Ya’ll are so loved!
