All day yesterday I attempted to post a happy birthday to Simpson County. Well, I didn’t make it…but better late than never.
Our county was established two hundred years ago on January 23, 1824!
The birthday celebration will begin Saturday in Mendenhall at the Alice Davis Park on Main Street at 11:00 AM.
Ya’ll, these committees have worked putting the celebration together! The hours they have spent in meetings, securing personal, and “elbow grease .”
I interviewed Jean Allen and Judy Lee Tuesday. I hope you have time to watch the video…so much is planned. Jean and Judy are members of the executive committee.
MageeNews.com has big plans for the upcoming months as we feature individuals and places concerning our history.
If anyone has memorabilia they would consider sharing with the county, bring the item to the Simpson County Museum in Mendenhall Thursday afternoon.
Ok for all you birthday folks…there will be cake Saturday! Let’s celebrate and blow out the candles on a new adventure.

We understand you missing getting the happy birthday in. We know how busy you and the board are in getting people “FIRED “!!!!
I believe part of the map for Simpson County is missing.
Great interview with Judy and Jean regarding the Bicentennial kick-off celebration for Saturday, January 27th. Let’s all turn out to show our support. Happy birthday, Simpson County!
