People pass through our lives sometime to never be thought of again…and then sometimes to never leave our heart.  Mrs. Lyn Tutor is one who has never left my heart.

Mrs. Tutor taught Mississippi history and general history when I was in junior high!  (That’s scary). Mrs. Tutor was one of the best teachers I ever had.  She taught me the love of history as well as the love of learning.  Our class was never dull.  She was  far ahead of ways to encourage students to learn.  Sometimes, our test would be cross word puzzles.  We studied the happening in our country and county.  She believed in a well-rounded curriculum and challenging the brain.

Mrs. Tutor continued her writing skills.  She has published work in several magazine and journals.

Blessed with a wonderful family, Mrs. Tutor enjoyed the “largest” of her now family!  Not only did her family adore her, but her former students and many friends still speak fondly of Mrs. Tutor.

Mrs. Tutor’s husband, G. L. Tutor was the superintendent.  Mr. Tutor would visit all the classrooms and encourage the students to apply themselves to their lessons.

Thank you, Mrs. Tutor, for your love of learning and teaching.  Thank you for your love and encouragement to your students.  Thank you for always bringing happiness to my heart even now at 100 years old!

Happy Birthday, Mrs. Tutor…you are so loved.
