A lady who has lived in Magee for 100 years…who loves her flowers…who loves her church and family…is celebrating!
Mrs. Bardell , who can sometimes still gives orders, lives with her son, John Meadows. Although she can only enjoy her flowers sitting by her bed…enjoy her church though the members who visit…she still loves her family and her Lord.
Mrs. Bardell had a garden until age 90 that she worked with a hoe!
The late Mr. W. T. Rankin was her twin! The late Mr. J. C. Rankin and the late Mrs. Marie Ainsworth were her other siblings.
Born March 7, 1916, Mrs. Meadows “grew up” on Griffith Road outside of Magee. She moved in her present home in 1950 (when John was 3 years old!)…she has lived in this spot for 65 years! Her home is located on old highway 49 near the “igloo” house!
