Simpson County Tech Center held Career Day, Tuesday, November 7th. The school was filled with representatives from numerous industries showcasing careers in our area.
During Career Day, a meeting of the advisory committee was held where Dr. Huffman gave an overview of the tech center and its goals. The Tech Center is on the move! Programs are now offered in area schools to middle school students.
The following had booths at the Tuesday event: Military, ABB Inc., Police Departments, Copiah Lincoln Community College, Tyson, John Deere, MSU Extension Service and WLBT.

MIssion Statement: The mission of the Simpson County Technical Center comprehensive school counseling and guidance program is to prepare every student socially, academically, and emotionally for present and future challenges. Students are provided with opportunities to gain an understanding of self and others to participate in educational and occupational exploration, and to pursue career planning opportunities in an environment that is safe, caring, and encouraging. The Counselor works in collaborative partnerships with students, educators, parents, and community members to empower students to reach their highest level as productive members of society.
Philosophy: All students have the ability to learn and should be given the opportunity to succeed in school and work.
