Governor Tate Reeves announced Friday morning, April 17, 2020, on his FB live interview that some changes will be made but mostly they are the same.
The shelter in place will remain in affect for one more week; when at that time, he will announce plans for the month of May.
Reeves vowed to “protect the people of Mississippi.”
The governor did increase or ease restrictions on some businesses who have been under a close order. Curb side service for most all business is allowed. “Safe sales” guidelines must be adhered in all businesses. Hair salons will not be allowed to open at this time, but products from the business can be sold through curbside pick up. Online sales may be picked up at a business, curbside…but no one can go into the business at this time.
The Governor expressed that by allowing the smaller businesses to sale their inventory, the over crowding of the big box stores would hopefully be reduced.
I am attaching the Governor’s interview from Friday morning for your viewing. I feel there will be a press release later in the day giving more details. I will post the release as soon as it is received.
Here we are friends still social distancing, wearing mask, and keeping our gatherings down to 10. I think our Governor is doing an excellent job in keeping the public informed and listening to the advice of his peers.
