The Scriptural passage chosen for today is found in 1 Peter 4:9: “Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.” Yes, the spirit of hospitality should be an outward showing that we are not of a stingy nature. The early apostles learned from Jesus and from those who often took them in that an open heart, much given to hospitality, is pleasing to God. In other Scripture, we find it written that “God loves a cheerful giver.” That can extend to manifestations other than tithing. Therefore, let us be quick to offer hospitality to those believers of like faith and persuasion and give to others in our midst who are less fortunate. People are hurting all around us. Amen!
