Get ready, Magee—because Mardi Gras is coming to Main Street Magee on Saturday night, February 7, and the fun begins at 6:00 PM! If you’ve been looking for the perfect excuse to get out, visit downtown, and soak up some community fun, this is your weekend.

The Mardi Gras Parade will roll right through Main Street at 6:00 PM, but trust me—you don’t want to wait until parade time to arrive. Come early, find a good spot, visit with friends, and enjoy the sights and sounds of downtown Magee as it fills with excitement.

One of the most fun parts of this parade? Pets are welcome! That’s right—your precious furry friend can walk or ride in the parade with you. Pets must be registered to participate (whether walking or riding), but there is no cost—you just need a parade number. To register, contact Tiffany Kinslow at 601-382-1179. I can’t wait to see all the creative costumes—both two-legged and four-legged!

Another highlight you won’t want to miss is the shoebox floats, which will be on display near The Vault. These floats are always fabulous and full of creativity. Be sure to stop by, admire the hard work, and cast your vote for your favorite. It’s always a tough decision because the entries are that good!

And what’s a Mardi Gras celebration without music? A live band will be performing outside The Vault, keeping the party going and setting the tone for a great night downtown.

This is shaping up to be a fantastic weekend in Magee—colorful, fun, family-friendly, and full of community spirit. I can’t wait to see everyone, the floats, the pets, the costumes, and all the smiles that come with a night like this.

So grab your beads, call your friends, and head to Main Street—Mardi Gras in Magee is almost here! 🎉
