Simpson County School board forum has been cancelled for Monday night, October 29th.

“Simpson Leaders recognize the vital function of the Simpson County School Board, it’s ability to shape our County as a whole and the consequences of that great responsibility.

While recognizing that, our group (Simpson Leaders) made the decision to organize a school board forum, to educate the public regarding the significant responsibility and influence of the school board in our community and to provide an equal, opportunity platform so that all candidates running in the school board election could advocate for his or herself on issues that involve education and community development.

While the Simpson Leaders program stems from the Simpson County Development Foundation, it has always conducted itself as a separate organization apart from Simpson County Development Foundation. Nonetheless, in light of the recent endorsement by Simpson County Development Foundation, Simpson Leaders have made the decision to cancel the school board forum, which is currently scheduled to take place at the Co-Lin Community College campus in Simpson County this coming Monday, October 29, 2018 at 6:00 p.m., even though our organization has not endorsed any candidate running in the 2018 November election. This decision was made to avoid even the slightest appearance of impropriety and partiality.”
