FBI, SOUTHAVEN POLICE SEEKING INFORMATION ABOUT AUGUST 2016 BANK ROBBERY

JACKSON, MISS. – The FBI’s Jackson Division and Southaven Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance to help identify two men suspected of robbing the Renasant Bank in Southaven on Aug. 16, 2016.

At approximately 1:50 p.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2016, in Southaven, Mississippi, two unknown black males wearing hooded sweatshirts robbed the Renasant Bank at 7500 Airways Blvd.

The robbers were estimated to be in their 20s. One was estimated to be approximately 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall with a slender build. The other was a bit taller, possibly 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall, with a slender but muscular build.

At least one of the robbers displayed a handgun and racked the slide after entering the bank. Both robbers ordered the bank employees to the ground and threatened to shoot the teller if she did not give them money.

One of the robbers jumped up on the counter and, after getting money from the teller, reached into the teller drawer and took the remainder of the money out of the teller drawer himself.

The robbers fled the bank in a powder blue, older model Nissan (possibly an Altima) with the license plate removed.

If you have any information, contact the DeSoto County Crime Stoppers at (662) 429-TIPS (8477).
