More than 350 prospective Mississippi College students are coming to the Clinton campus to meet school leaders, attend classes, and tailgate on the Quad.

It’s all part of MC’s first Fall Preview Day set for September 19. Students will also get questions answered on college costs, meet with professors and attend the MC-Belhaven football game at Robinson-Hale Stadium. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.

The number of Preview Day visitors should climb to more than 1,000 guests when parents and other family members are added, says admissions director Kyle Brantley.

One of the popular events promises to be the Campus Crawl scavenger hunt designed to get future students to discover more about Mississippi College.

Preview Day activities begin with a 1 p.m. check-in at Anderson Hall. That’s followed by a parade of speakers, including President Lee Royce, Jim Turcotte, vice president for enrollment services and dean of students, and assistant admissions director Michael Wright.

Optional events on the schedule include an 11 a.m. open house that Saturday at Providence Hill Farm. It is designed for students interested in MC’s archery, bass fishing, clay shooting or equestrian teams.

Parents won’t be ignored at the 5,152-student Christian university.

There’s a 3 p.m. session for parents on financial aid at Anderson Hall led by financial aid director Karon McMillan. Vice President for Christian Development Eric Pratt will discuss opportunities for students to develop their spiritual growth. Associate dean of students Jonathan Ambrose will talk about student organizations and activities in the community.

An afternoon tour of MC’s Cadaver Lab, tailgate time in the Quad and campus tours will round out the events prior to the Saturday night football game.

The second Fall Preview Day at MC is set for November 14. That’s when the Choctaws host Delta State in football to renew their Gulf South Conference rivalry.

Preview Day activities are free. For more information, contact the MC Office of Admissions at 601-925-7726.
