Prospective students from across the Southeast and as far away as California will travel to Mississippi College for Spring Preview Day.

So far, nearly 900 high school students and parents are booked for the March 25 event. Activities begin with 8:30 a.m. check-in that Saturday at the B.C. Rogers Student Center on the Clinton campus.

A parade of speakers, including President Lee Royce, admissions director Kyle Brantley and Jim Turcotte, vice president for enrollment services and dean of students, will address the visitors. Shardae Jernigan, MC’s coordinator of telecounseling and communications, will discuss social media.

Spring Preview Day 2017 remains packed with informative events to discover more about life at Mississippi College. There’s a noon tour of the Cadaver Lab, time to attend a class, and sessions for parents to get the facts on the Christian university’s financial aid packages. Lunch will be served on the Quad.

In addition, professors will staff booths at Alumni Gym starting at 11:30 a.m. to promote their academic programs at the 191-year-old university.

Prospective students interested in Mississippi College’s equestrian, clay shooting and bass fishing teams are invited to Providence Hill Farm for a reception. The event runs from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m.

Activities for visitors continue well into the afternoon at the Baptist-affiliated university. Guests are invited to root for the MC Choctaws baseball team.

The Blue & Gold will face Gulf South Conference rival Shorter University of Georgia in a doubleheader. Games on the diamond at Frierson Field begin at 1 p.m. Admission is free.

Students are coming from Mississippi and neighboring states like Louisiana, Tennessee, Arkansas and Alabama. But they are also visiting MC from other parts of the nation, including Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Michigan, Missouri and Colorado.

For more information, contact the Mississippi College admissions office at 601-925-3800. The schedule for the 2017 Spring Preview Day is available at www.mc.edu/previewday.
