Alcorn State University in Lorman, Mississippi, is proud to announce that E’niya Dominique’ Rowry, of Magee, MS, will be graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology on May, 7th 2016 at 1pm. Rowry is the daughter of Krista Rowry-Shaw of Magee, and Paul Davis of Atlanta, GA. Rowry is a 2012 graduate of Magee High School, where she was a member of FCCLA and a Mississippi Scholar. Rowry interned for Catholic Charities’ Guardian Sexual Assault Center in Natchez, MS this past semester. In October of last year, Rowry was selected out of hundreds of applicants to participate in Adler University’s Diversity Scholars Program in Chicago, IL. That same year, she was one of the few selected to represent, volunteer, and aid in facilitation of the Mississippi Counselors Association’s annual conference in Biloxi, MS. Alcorn was the only university there with undergraduate students participating. She is a 2015 Dean’s Scholar and is active in a number of organizations at Alcorn State University, Class Cabinet (2012-2014), Student Ambassadors (2012-2013), Diversity Champions (president 2013-2014), Residence Life (2014-2015), T.R.E.N.D. Modeling Squad (makeup artist 2014-2015), Psi Chi (2015 inductee), Mississippi Counselors Association (student member), and Psychology Society (Miss. Psychology Society 2015-2016). Rowry plans to gain experience in her field before continuing her education. She has plans to enter the clinical psychology doctoral program at Adler University in the Fall of 2017. She is grateful for her experience at Alcorn and attributes her passion to continue her career path in psychology to Jeremiah 29:11. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
