Mrs. Edna Purvis was born on February 19, 1931, in Smith County. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who found joy in gardening, fishing, traveling, playing the piano, and most importantly, spending time with her family. She was a dedicated member of Rock Bluff Baptist Church and was deeply loved in the community.

Mrs. Edna is survived by her four children: Judy Martin and husband Tony, Melba Stevens (widow of Jimmy Stevens), Gary Purvis and wife Phyllis, and Tracy Purvis. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Junius M. Purvis; her parents, Robert B. Dukes and Fenie Dukes; brothers Jessie Dukes, Cortez Dukes, and Robert Dukes Jr.; and sisters Lucille Pendergrass, Ina Mae Baker, and Lavell Findley.

Funeral services will be held at Rock Bluff Baptist Church on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Brother Donnie Stuart will officiate the service, followed by burial in the church cemetery.
