Mr. Eddie Melvin Wade, Sr., age 81, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2015 at the V.A. Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation was held 5-8pm Saturday, October 03, 2015 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton and 10am-12:30pm Sunday at the funeral home. Funeral service was held 2pm Sunday, October 4, 2015 at Springfield Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Bro. Don Wilson and Bro. Bob Rogers officiated the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Mr. Wade was born in Scott County, Pulaski, MS on November 3, 1933. He served as a Deacon at Springfield Baptist Church. Mr. Wade was a cattle farmer and broiler farmer for many years. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents Eddie Lee Wade and Elsie Conolia Joyner Wade; brother, Joyner Lee Wade and son-in-law, Danny Joe Thompson.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jeanette Hawkins Wade of Morton; children, Eddie Melvin Wade Jr. (Karan) of Wiggins, William Richard “Ricky Wade (Tammy) of Morton, Lawana Wade Thompson of Magee and Donna Wade Woolery (Phillip) of Morton; brothers, James Leon Wade (Sarah) of Lake and Ronald Gene Wade (Aline) of Morton; 9 grandchildren, Brent Wade (Casey), Chris Wade (Rochella), Candi Wade Graham (Clint), Holly Wade (Cory Harkins), Abby Brecklehimmer, Cody Rhodes, Hunter Thompson, Sierra Woolery and Kacey Woolery; 8 great grandchildren, Lily Joy Wade, Christina (CJ) Wade, Rachel Wade, Grayson Brecklehimmer, Isabelle Graham, Rosalie Graham, John Graham and James Graham; sister-in-law, Betty Fay Wade of Morton; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers were Brent Wade, Chris Wade, Clint Graham, Cody Rhodes, Cory Harkins, Hunter Thompson, Kacey Woolery and Don James.
Memorials may be made in his name to the Springfield Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
