Earnest Lavon Bairfield, 75 of Mendenhall, MS was called home on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at the Simpson General Hospital in Mendenhall, MS. He was born Sunday, April 11, 1948 in Magee, MS.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2024 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall, 3077 Simpson Hwy 13, Mendenhall, MS. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 18, 2024 at 11:00am at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall. Burial will follow in Rials Creek Cemetery in Mendenhall, MS. Bro. David Hanna will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements. 601-847-4401

Earnest was a great provider, always giving back and taking care of his family. He worked out of state just to provide and send money to his mom. He was very passionate about all thing’s construction. He loved his job loading trucks and was even mentioned in a news article for the work he did. He loved to race cars at his brother’s racetrack. He had a heart full of gold and a voice of thunder. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leslie Duck Bairfield; mother, Hilda Ray Welch Bairfield; brothers, Charles and Barney Bairfield.

Survivors include his wife, Tammy Rushing Bairfield; sons, Earnest Patrick Bairfield and Anthony Bordelon; daughter, Latricia Bordelon; grandchild, Ava Bowen; brothers, Leslie Ray Bairfield (Sylvia) and Bobby Bairfield; and a host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Family and friends.
