The Scriptural passage selected for today is found in 2 Corinthians 9:7: “Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” The apostle is addressing the early Christians in the Church of Corinth. He knew of the physical needs of those within the congregation, as well as those beyond the church walls. He encouraged all who were financially able to help as much as they possibly could. The spirit of giving is one God appreciates, especially from His children. There’s such a great need to help see to those less fortunate, the truly needy. Let us all be cheerful givers. In the spirit of giving, as we go about our day, let us also be quick to share the love, joy, and kindness with all those with whom we come in contact.
