The potential of a driver licensing office to locate in Magee is in the works. Mayor Jimmy Clyde and Chief Randy Crawford met with the Department of Safety and were able to narrow down two possible locations of the site, Magee Civic Center, or Magee Community House. It is unsure at this point if the office would be open one day a week or once a month. The location has to meet certain criteria such as high speed internet, handicap accessible, etc. The office would start as a test site and then reassess the need. The board gave the Mayor permission to go ahead with a written letter to the Department of Safety wanting to move forward with this proposal for a driver license office in Magee.
