Dorothy Ann Muse, 81, of Richland, Mississippi, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She was born Saturday, August 27, 1938, in Burnsville, North Carolina.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 13, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mendenhall, Mississippi.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 14, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mendenhall. The burial will follow in Popular Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, 362 Poplar Springs Rd, Mendenhall, Mississippi. Bro. Earl Clark will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements. (601) 847-4401

Mrs. Muse was a member of Kannapolis Baptist Church in North Carolina where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was active in her community through many community programs. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She enjoyed working outside, working in her beauty salon, and most of all spending time with her grands.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, A.D. Muse and William Jackson; parents, John R. and Helen Mitchell; two sisters, Shirl Trovinger and Betty Rogers.

Survivors include three daughters, Deborah Lara (Walter) of Richland, Angie Williams (Ron) of Destin, FL and Pam Thornton (Jimmy) of Southaven; six grandchildren, Angie Bryant, J.R. Williams, Spencer Williams, William Thornton, Samantha Valverde (Francisco), and Jackson Thornton; three great-grandchildren, Wesley Bryant, Shelby Bryant, and Oliver Valverde; one brother, John Mitchell; one brother-in-law, Bob Rogers; and a host of other family members and friends.

Pallbearers will be Walter Lara, Spencer Williams, J.R. Williams, Wesley Bryant, Stan Bryant, and Nathan McGovern.
