If you haven’t made it to the polls yet, there is still plenty of time — but voter turnout is off to a slow start this morning in Magee.

As of around 10:00 a.m., only about 80 people had cast their ballots at the Magee Civic Center polling location. That number represents just 4% of the registered voters on the roll, leaving a large portion of the community yet to make their voices heard.

Elections are one of the most important ways citizens take part in shaping their local, county, and state leadership. Every single vote truly matters, especially in local elections where outcomes can be decided by just a handful of ballots.

Polls will remain open until 7:00 p.m., giving residents all day to stop by and participate in the democratic process.

Serving at the Magee Civic Center polling location today are poll workers Kristi Kahn, Sandra McGee, Randy Ainsworth, and James Hooker, who are helping ensure the voting process runs smoothly and efficiently.

Take a few minutes, make the trip, and let your voice be heard.

It was so interesting to learn about the town of Magee. My name is Magee…from Virginia. I wish I could visit, but at the age of 92, I can only enjoy the history of Magee and wish for its continued growth and success.
