DISTRICT ATTORNEY MATT SULLIVAN ANNOUNCES NOTABLE DEFENDANTS DONALD MULLINS, SHAWN BRATCHER, AND OTHERS SENTENCED

District Attorney Matt Sullivan announces that on March 13, 2017, six notable defendants were adjudicated guilty and sentenced to significant punishments for crimes committed in the 13th District. Shawn Bratcher received 10 years for theft of a motor vehicle plus a maximum 5 year consecutive sentence for his widely publicized felony escape from the Simpson County Jail in 2016. Donald Mullins received five years for Child Neglect. Mullins admitted to his guilt of criminal negligence which resulted in his three-year-old granddaughter being viciously attacked by the pit bulldogs he kept inside his home. The pit bulldog attack occurred in Simpson County near Harrisville, and the horrific story of the child victim received international media attention. LaMichael Davis received 15 years for Statutory Rape of a fourteen-year-old and Davis shall be a sex offender for the remainder of his natural life. Chantelos Jones received 20 years for burglary of a dwelling. Charlie Taylor received 5 years for felony DUI. Enadne Daniels received 20 years for aggravated assault. All the defendants’ sentences are conditioned on their final judgements and each defendant shall be under the control of the Mississippi Department of Corrections for the entirety of their sentences. District Attorney Sullivan acknowledges the courage of victims and witnesses who aid the diligent work of law enforcement and prosecutors in their pursuit of justice.
