Denalu Allen Sullivan, 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 15, 2025, in her retirement home in Jacksonville, Florida.

Denalu loved her family more than anything in this world. After graduating early from Mize High School to marry her childhood sweetheart, Billy R. Sullivan, she went on to work for over 30 years as an administrative assistant at Lampton-Love, Inc. During these years, she raised four beautiful children in the Jackson area while continuing to make cherished memories at their vacation home in Mize.

She found great joy in weekends spent gardening and cooking at the lake house. A devoted member of Calvary Presbyterian Church, Denalu never missed a Sunday—always ready to sing her heart out and strike up a conversation with anyone who’d listen. In her later years, she moved to Jacksonville, Florida, where she spent her final chapter before returning home to Mize to be laid to rest.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 25, at 12:00 PM at Calvary Presbyterian Church, followed by funeral services at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Pastor Tommy Shields will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee is handling arrangements (601-849-5031).

Denalu’s name has now been called on the Roll to join her beloved husband, Billy Ralph; her parents, Marvin B. Allen and Bessie Allen Ainsworth; her brother, Harry Allen; and her sister and brother-in-law, Willie Ree and Charles Howell.

She is survived by her four children and their spouses: Debra Gregory, Stephanie (Chris) Grew, Melanie (Marty) Buckholt, and Gerard (Christina) Sullivan; six grandchildren: Joel Gregory, Michael (Taylor) Grew, Shannon (Peter) Thompson, Liberty, Justice, and Hope Buckholt. She is also survived by her sister Betty (Burl) Crosby, her brother Marvin B. (Maurine) Allen, and a host of nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Calvary Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund in Denalu’s memory.

Denalu’s children would like to thank you for your presence today. Your love and remembrance of their mother mean more than words can express. May each of you be richly blessed.
