Ben Warren, County Road Manager, informed the Board of Supervisors and public that dead trees near county  roads are and will continue to be a major problem for the county.  Following the summer drought, many trees died.  “County doesn’t own these trees, the land owner does, “ explained Warren.  “The best way to dispose of the trees is following the cut, pushing them back into the woods for nature to take its course,” Warren said.  Land owners who are facing dead tree problems near county roads should contact Ben.

County wide spaying of bush is under question.  The spaying process is very costly.  Supervisor Danny Craft stated, “we do not need to get behind.”

The board requested Warren come back to the board with input on what roads need spraying  and or hot spot areas/crucial areas.

Ben mentioned the value of the inmate labor.  The inmates not only help the county but allow some to take their new learned skills into the market place.
