David Butler, 88, passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2016, in Magee. He was born on July 27, 1927, to the (late) Ullie and Rogenia (Farnham) Butler of Jefferson Davis County.
Mr. Butler was a long-time employee of Metro Fire in Jackson, MS and a member of Goodwater Baptist Church in Magee.
He is survived by his loving wife, Fannie (Sullivan) Butler; three sons, John David Butler (Linda), Gary Butler (Lahoma), Dwayne Luke (Brandy); four daughters, Wadean Fulton, Susan Howard (Kenny), Belinda Howell (Randy), Melinda Quick (Tony); one brother, Jack Butler (Lois); six sisters, Bernice Redfern (Kenneth), Willie Mae Hinton (Frank), Grace Higgins (Truman), Janie McPhail (Harlos), Patsy Little (Bobby), Dorothy Mitchell (George); eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents, Mr. Butler was preceded in death by four brothers; J.M. Butler, John Butler, Guy Butler, Dan Butler and sister, Bonnie Redfern.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 25, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Tutor Funeral Home in Magee. The service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 26, in the Tutor Funeral Home Chapel. Final resting place will be in Goodwater Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Michael Giles will officiate.
