The Hinds County Chancery Court has ruled the partial veto filed by Governor Tate Reeves was unconstitutional.

Hinds County Chancellor Tiffany Grove made the decision.

Speaker of the House Phillip Gunn and Representative Jason White filed a suit over line item vetoes within House Bill 1782.  The Governor made these vetoes during the 2020 Legislative Session.

The disagreement  was over $2 million appropriated by the Legislature to the North Oak Regional Medical Center and $6 million given to the MAGnet Community Health Center. The money came  from CARES Act funds.
