Corporal Zach Moak and Officer James White Memorial Highway dedicated in Lincoln County 

HATTIESBURG, MISS. – On Monday, May 3, a section of U.S. Highway 51 in Lincoln County was designated as the “Corporal Zach Moak and Officer James White Memorial Highway” in honor of the late Corporal Zach Moak and Officer James White.

The memorial highway begins at the Natchez Avenue intersection and extends north to the Brookway Boulevard intersection.

Corporal Moak and Officer White lost their lives in the line of duty on September 29, 2018.

“The people of Lincoln County will never forget the sacrifice these two men made,” said Commissioner Tom King, Southern Transportation District. “Dedicating this section of highway is a constant reminder of what Corporal Moak and Officer White did for the community, and MDOT is honored to play a role in this dedication.”

The ceremony was held at the Lampton Auditorium in Brookhaven. U.S. Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith, U.S. Rep. Michael Guest and state Rep. Becky Currie were among the distinguished guests who spoke at the dedication ceremony.
