Cora June Purvis Whitley
(May 21, 1936 – March 10, 2022)

Cora June Purvis Whitley, 85 of Magee, Mississippi passed away from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. She was born Thursday, May 21, 1936, in Simpson County, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 14, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home at 302 8th Ave SW, Magee, Mississippi.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 14, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. The burial will follow in Sharon Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Magee, Mississippi. Brother Jim Taylor will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. 601-849-5031

Mrs. June attended church at the Magee Congregational Methodist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend.  She enjoyed fishing and hunting, working with her garden, watching football, and most of all spending time with her family and friends.  She will be greatly missed by all of her loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Willis Jefferson Purvis; mother, Cora Jane Rankin Purvis; brothers, Norman Purvis and John Purvis; sisters, Annie Rea Purvis Womack, Vernell Purvis Jones, Katie Ruth Purvis Barnes, and her twin sister, Cora Jean Purvis Barnard.

Survivors include her two loving sons, Kenneth Lamar Sullivan of Magee, MS and Harry Dwayne Sullivan (Susan) of Madison, MS; granddaughter, Samantha Sullivan of MO; one brother, Glenn Purvis of Ridgeland, MS.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Dale Barnard, Robbie Barnes, Stan Purvis, Lee Purvis, Dale Purvis, and Wayne Hall.
