Six outstanding students inducted into Copiah-Lincoln’s Hall of Fame

WESSON – Six outstanding sophomores on Copiah-Lincoln Community College’s Wesson campus have been named to the college’s Hall of Fame, the highest honor that can be given a Co-Lin student.

During the college’s Annual Awards Day, Copiah-Lincoln President Dr. Ronnie Nettles announced the 2016 Hall of Fame recipients are Greta Carley of Columbia, Brady Dunaway of Smithdale, Rebecca Ellzey of Roxie, Greg Nickles of Pelahatchie, Katelyn Roberts of Bogue Chitto, and Mi’esha Smith of Pinola.

Greta Carley

Greta Carley serves as president of the Student Government Association and an officer for the Wolfpack Strong Health Initiative. She is a member of the President’s Council, Phi Theta Kappa, Phi Beta Lambda, Student Voices, Trillium Yearbook Staff, and the Lady Wolves Softball Team. Carley was elected Homecoming Queen and selected to Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges.

She is the daughter of Amy and Trey Carley of Columbia.

Brady Dunaway

Brady Dunaway serves as president and founder of the Co-Lin Naturalist Club, secretary of the College Republicans, and vice president of research for Phi Theta Kappa. He is a member of the President’s Council, Blue Wave Show Band, Sojourners, and the Baptist Student Union Praise Band. Dunaway was selected to Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges and is the recipient of the Taylor Presidential Leadership Scholarship, Dr. Robert Bennie Channell memorial Scholarship and a Vice

President’s Scholarship.
He is the son of Scott and Janet Dunaway of Smithdale.

Rebecca Ellzey

Rebecca Ellzey serves as Vice President for Scholarship for Phi Theta Kappa, founder and president of the Bible Drill Team, and co-editor of The Wolf Tales. She is a member of the Baptist Student Union, College Republicans, Diamond Dolls, Trailblazers, and Blue Wave Show Band. Ellzey was selected a Coca-Cola Gold Scholar, All- Mississippi Community College Academic First Team, and to Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges. She is the recipient of the Geico Pathway to Completion Scholarship and academic and fine arts scholarships.

She is the daughter of Everett and Judy Ellzey of Roxie.

Greg Nickles

Greg Nickles is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Baptist Student Union and kicker/punter for the Wolfpack football team. A President’s List student, Nickles was selected to Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges, Mr. Co-Lin, College Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA) Academic All-District First Team, CoSIDA Academic All-American College Division Football Team, National Junior College Athletic Association Superior Award for Academic Achievement, Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges Special Teams Player of the Week three weeks.

He is the son of Charles and Inca Nickles of Pelahatchie.

Katelyn Roberts

Katelyn Robert serves as Vice President of Service for Phi Theta Kappa, president of the Trailblazers, president of the Alpha Omega Science Club, secretary/treasurer of Sigma Kappa Delta, and Chairman of the College Republicans. A Taylor Presidential Scholar, Roberts was a member of the President’s Council, Student Voices, and served as statistician of the Lady Wolves Basketball team. She was selected to Who’s Who Among

Student in American Junior Colleges, All-Mississippi Community College Academic Second Team and elected sophomore homecoming maid. Roberts is the recipient of the Russell Ray Scholarship.

She is the daughter of Shannon Roberts of Bogue Chitto.

Mi’esha Smith

Mi’esha Smith serves as Vice President of Communications for Phi Theta Kappa, vice president of Wolfpack Strong Wellness Initiative and president of the sophomore class. She is a member of the Trailblazers, President’s Council, Sigma Kappa Delta. Smith was selected a Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholar and to Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges. She is the recipient of the Ann Bradberry and Hardy Perritt Creative Writing Scholarships.

She is the daughter of Genette Smith and Michael Jones, both of Pinola.
