Congressman Michael Guest on his Subcommittee Leadership Appointment on the Committee on Homeland Security

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Michael Guest (R-Miss) announces his continued service on the Committee on Homeland Security and his appointment to serve as the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Border Security and Enforcement.

Congressman Guest issued the following statement:  “I am honored to continue working alongside fellow Members to secure our border and protect our communities.  In the 118th Congress, I was proud to lead the charge as Vice Chairman of the Committee on Homeland Security to push back against the failed border policies of the Biden-Harris Administration. With President Trump soon to be in office, I stand ready to work alongside the President to secure our border.

“President Trump has been clear that the most important issue facing our nation is border security. As the chairman of the Subcommittee on Border Security and Enforcement in the 119th Congress, I will work with President Trump and Border Czar Tom Homan to secure our border and to protect our communities. I am honored to serve in this capacity and to have the opportunity to lead the Committee on Homeland Security and the Republican Conference on this important legislative work,” said Congressman Guest.”

“As vice chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee in the 118th Congress, Representative Michael Guest worked tirelessly to advance border security measures and demand accountability from the Biden-Harris administration for its countless failures,” Chairman Mark Green (R-Tenn) said. “I am proud to appoint him as chairman of the Border Security and Enforcement Subcommittee, a vital panel entrusted with fulfilling President Trump’s mandate to end the historic chaos at our borders and empower our frontline law enforcement in their missions. Chairman Guest is a proven leader, and I am grateful for the opportunity to continue working alongside him.”

Congressman Guest has served on the Committee on Homeland Security since coming to Congress in 2019.
