Congressman Guest Joins Effort to Protect Women’s Sports

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Michael Guest voted in favor of  H.R. 734, the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act of 2023 — legislation that defines sex as “a person’s reproductive biology and genetics at birth” when determining compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. Congressman Guest cosponsored the legislation, which passed the House by a vote of 219-203.

“For 50 years, young women have benefitted from the opportunity to compete equally in sports under the protections of Title IX — learning valuable lessons about hard work, teamwork, and commitment. Today, we are fighting for the long-standing traditions of women’s sports so that future generations can enjoy the many opportunities they offer,” Congressman Guest said. “It’s a sad reality that the woke Left values the basic rights of women so low that they have pushed for regulations to allow men to compete against women in athletic events.   With this bill, we are pushing back against the radical leftist agenda to protect the opportunities afforded to women.”

The Protection of Women and Girls Sports Act of 2023 addresses a part of a core pillar of the Republican Commitment to America.
