MENDENHALL – Copiah-Lincoln Community College is proud to announce the launch of a new Cybersecurity program at its Simpson County Center beginning in the Fall 2025 semester. This addition marks a significant step forward in preparing students for careers in one of the fastest-growing and most in-demand fields in today’s job market.

The new program will provide students with the skills and knowledge needed to protect and secure digital systems in a constantly evolving technological landscape. Students will learn how to install, design, operate, manage, troubleshoot, and maintain hardware within a secure information technology infrastructure. Coursework will include topics such as wireless security and privacy, network defense and countermeasures, security testing and implementation, and Windows security.

“The addition of the cybersecurity program reflects our commitment to providing students with relevant, high-demand career pathways,” said Dr. Sharolyn Magee, Co-Lin Dean of Career & Technical Education. “As technology continues to evolve, so does the need for trained professionals to safeguard our systems and data. We’re proud to offer this opportunity right here in Simpson County.”

Graduates of the program will be prepared to enter the workforce as computer or network security technicians, ready to tackle the challenges of digital security in both public and private sectors.
