Mrs. Clara Jaynes, a retired Simpson County teacher, has received numerous accolades in the form of plaques, letters, notes, resolutions, and verbal expressions.  On Saturday, February 22, 2020, at the Old Antique Store on Highway 49 south of Magee, she was truly blessed.

A former student, Kimberly Thames, from the Magee High School class of 1995, had a book signing of her first published book, “The Intercessors.” Inside the book, in the author’s notes, the following words read:  “This book is respectively dedicated to my former English teacher, Mrs. Clara Jaynes, who recognized back then that I had talent and encouraged me to use it as often as I could.  She always was and continues to be an inspiration to me even now, many, many, many years later.  Thank you for believing me.”

Mrs. Jaynes response was, “This has been one of the first of its kind for me and one of the greatest honors that I have received.  Thank you Kimberly and may God continue to bless you to write and encourage others to get to know Him.”

Kimberly writes under the pen name Sarah Ashlyn
