Charles C Hegwood, 73 of Mize, MS passed away Sunday, July 10, 2022 at the Arrington Living Center in Collins, MS. He was born Friday, September 3, 1948 in Raleigh, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in 113 Front Street, Taylorsville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Taylorsville, Mississippi. Burial will follow in Mineral Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Taylorsville, Mississippi. Bro. Stevie Hand will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Taylorsville is in charge of arrangements. 601-785-6564.
Charles served in the U.S. Army for 3 years. He was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church and was a lifelong resident of Taylorsville. He was an avid outdoorsman and had an affinity for old westerns.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne Hegwood; parents, Cecil C Hegwood and Merl Gable Hegwood; grandchild, Christian Hegwood; brother, Ben Hegwood.
Survivors include his two sons, Damion Hegwood (Monica) of Taylorsville and Josh Hegwood (Cheyenne ) of Taylorsville; step-daughter, Brandy Craft of Las Vegas , NV; grandchildren, Hannah Grace Hegwood, Gabriella Hegwood, Luke Hegwood, Kinsley Marie Hegwood, Riley Leann Hegwood, Wayland Hegwood, Reagan Hegwood, Grace Craft and Lyla Johnson brother, Lyn Hegwood; sister -in-law, Joann Hegwood; caregivers, Nelda Freeman, Nicole Little, and Carla McNease; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Wilson, Austin Blair, KC White, Cameron Phipps, Mike Sartor, and Paul Little.
