District Attorney Matt Sullivan celebrates the coming of fall with a cook-out the first Friday in November!

Approximately 600 people attended the picture perfect event on November 2, 2018.

I told Matt several years ago a barn like his was my dream! I have never seen a barn so clean and decorated so beautifully. Pumpkins and sunflowers are everywhere. When you approach the door, boil peanuts are on every table!
The event is the perfect place for politicians…and they are there! Anyone running for office puts the Matt Sullivan cook-out on their calendar.

Judge Jeff Weill who is a candidate for the Court of Appeals and his wife Tracy (who is my first cousin) were greeting guest with Matt and his wife Kayla. Matt’s mother, Jane is busy running the show. The event operates like a well-oiled machine. Her entourage has every aspect under control.

The main meal is served on a large wagon with a huge pumpkin arrangements in the middle. Near is the pork table which holds two “full” pigs! I am always amazed when I see a roasted pig…I did taste the meat and the meet was delicious.

As you can tell, I am all into the decorations where most are people watching! The cook-out is a great time to connect and reconnect with friends. The crowd is predominately male! Over the years, more and more women are in attendance.

Simpson County was well represented with members of the board of supervisors, county officials, election commission, lawyers, press, and friends.

I hope you will enjoy the pics for Friday’s event. I do not have all the names but will post what I have!
