Sergeant Daniel G. Allen United States Army and Sergeant First Class United State Army spoke with students about the opportunities available through the military.

SGT Travis Runnels of the MS Army National Guard had a table full of guys and gals seeking information about the guard.

Patrick Ellis and Rachel Coulter of the WLBT weather team entertained a large number of students about how to become a weather man and schools that teach meteorology.

Co-Lin had several booths displaying classes that are available on the college level and high school level. Several of the programs that are not taught at the Tech Center will be moved to the new building under construction at the Simpson Campus of Co-Lin.

Amanda Blakney, MSU Simpson County extension office, made it clear to visiting students that MSU is in all 82 counties though their extension program. I think the girls were shocked at the dedication of MSU to reach everyone.

The nursing students sponsored a health fair. I decided to give one of the girls at taking my blood pressure! She was quite capable and had great bedside manners.

Peoples Bank, PriorityOne Bank, and Trustmark Bank talked with students about checking accounts and decisions they will be making as they look toward careers and college.

I am a huge supporter of the tech center. I really feel the Tech Center is the jewel of Simpson County education that many people do not even know about.

Following a meal for the instructors and local fair participants, Dr. Bo Huffman explained that the Tech Center will began a recruitment to increase the student population at the Tech Center. The center has grown to between 295-300 students! With the additional programs now available, Dr. Huffman wants to see those number increase.

Students from Magee High School, Mendenhall High School, Simpson Academy, and home schooled attend the Tech Center.

Congratulations on another great Career Fair!
