Saturday, April 6, 2024, proved to be a busy day in Magee.  Students from Magee High School, and some parents, kicked off the day with a City Wide clean up.  The students selected an area they wanted to see clean…and from then on…it was a go go go!!!

The Library is finally getting a much needed face lift.  I can’t tell you how happy seeing those workers made me!  Many on the Board of Aldermen had been asking and asking…the “asking” finally paid off.  Thanks to the City for going forth on our dear and precious library!

The tennis courts received an overlay of the courts on Saturday.  Our City Park is an ongoing project.  I have been amazed at the number of people who use the tennis courts!  I think the courts are occupied almost every day and night!  The actual completion of the park project will take about a year.  Hopefully, we will be “swinging” in early 2025.  Christian Carrico and his committee continue to work raising money and completing  each phase of the park.

Tiffany Kinslow and Alyson Berch got their hands dirty Saturday working in Ural Everett Park.  Pulling weeds and trimming changed the entire appearance of the park.  Please help us keep the park clean.  Bicentennial events are planned for the park.  An art show and book signing will take place on Thursday, April 18th from 11 AM-4 PM.  BBQ lunches will be on sale for $5.

Do you even know where this is?  This is the back of the building (old Grace HealthCare) that I have fussed and fussed about!  Look, the owner got the building secure in time for the Bicentennial!  The before and after is quite interesting.  The sealing of the building is not a finished project, just a fix until a decision is made by the owner his plans for the building.

Before the sealing of the building

Clean up on 11th Avenue

A house that burned on 11th avenue several several months ago (might even be a year) finally was demolished.

When I became an alderman, I thought if I said “it” needed to be done…”it” was done.  Much to my dismay, things don’t work like that—there is no fast gear.  To protect our citizens and their property, we have rules and regulations that must be followed.  Don’t think we are not trying…because we are.  I’ve wanted the Splash pad repaired before I even came into office.  Finding someone to repair the pad has been a nightmare.  We hope we have a good person lined up this time.  We the Board appreciate your support and encouragement.  Let us know when you have a problem.  We can’t solve your problem if we don’t know.

Call me 601-310-6881 or email me...I will do my best.
