On January 17, 2016 at approximately 6 PM, Paul Martin of Braxton was detained for shoplifting in the Magee Walmart store.

Joey Shows was the arresting officer. Once in custody of the Magee Police Department, Mr. Martin had quite a story to tell the PD.

As Martin was being booked, he told the police they just might want to know what else he had taken from Walmart. After obtaining a signed form from Martin to enter his home, Joey Womack of the Magee Police Department and a deputy of the Simpson County Sheriff Department paid a visit to Martin’s home. What they found was a collection of shoplifted goods since November of 2015. Ninety-one items had been taken from the business. According to Martin, he just walked out the door merchandise in hand and buggy. He had even stolen a “walkie talkie” used by store personal for talking to one another over concerns in the store.
