White-Johnson Addresses Health Disparities with State Leaders

The Inaugural Gala for Mississippi Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves held earlier this month in Jackson provided an opportunity for Freddie White-Johnson, program director of the Mississippi Network for Cancer Control at The University of Southern Mississippi, to discuss health disparities with many of the state’s elected leaders.

White-Johnson, who also serves as director of the Fannie Lou Hamer Cancer Foundation, emphasized the need for additional fund to address cancer (breast, cervical, colorectal, and prostate) health disparities – particularly in the Mississippi Delta.

The Fannie Lou Hamer Cancer Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to the eradication of cancer in Mississippi, through education, support services, research and advocacy.
