The signs are up. The plants are in the ground. The furniture is in place! Burger King should open soon. Word on the street, the first hamburger will be sold Sunday, December 15th! The men are still cleaning the area and parking places need to be stripped. I actually think they may hit their opening date on the 15th.
I wanted ya’ll to notice one thing. Check out the height of the McDonal’s sign and the Wendy’s sign. The Burger King is much shorter. The reason for the difference in the heights is McDonald’s and Wendy’s were grandfathered in to that height. (They were built before the new zoning laws went into affect.). The BK is the correct height under the new laws.
Ya’ll know I am not happy about the situation with the Wendy’s sign! It is awful and right there on Highway 49! I was told several months ago, Wendy’s was to be upgraded…ok, I’m ready for the upgrade. The sign is an embarrassment to our city.
I have a Zoning Board meeting Tuesday night and I intend to ask David Dunn about the situation!
