Bubba Brannan of Magee and Brian Speights of Magee killed this 11 foot 5 inch alligator in the Pearl River near Monticello’s Atwood Water Park on Sunday, September 2 in the early morning hours.

On hand to check out the kill were their sons Collin, 11 and Trace, 7.

The gator weighed 480 pounds with a 53 inch belly girth and a 38 inch tail girth.

Trace Brannan in the gray (Bubbas son) is in 2nd grade at Simpson Academy and Collin Haney (Brian’s son) is in 6 the grade at Columbia.

 

The little boy in the Ole Miss shirt is Brian’s son Hunt.  The little boy in the MS State shirt is Lane Mullins, Bubba’s nephew.
