BrownAdrianBrown named MACJC Player of the Week

WESSON – Copiah-Lincoln sophomore outfielder Adrian Brown has been named the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) Baseball Player of the Week for the opening week of the 2015 season.
Brown, a graduate of McComb High School, was selected in a vote by league sports information directors. He’ll be nominated for the national player of the week award that will be announced later this week.
Brown went 2-for-3 in a season opening 9-4 win over Bishop State. The center fielder hit two doubles and knocked in two RBIs while also drawing a walk. It was in game two of the doubleheader that Brown really showed out. Up to bat in the second inning with the bases loaded, Brown smashed a grand slam homerun to left-center field. He finished game two with six RBIs in a 10-3 Co-Lin victory and also stole two bases in the doubleheader. Brown was named state and national player of the week once as a freshman.
Brown and the Wolves return to action on Saturday, Feb. 14 when they host Kaskaskia College (IL). The doubleheader begins at 2 p.m. at Sullivan Field in Wesson.
