            We are sad to announce the death of our precious mother Bobbie Grice Butler, 85 of Taylorsville, MS who passed away from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at the Care Center of Laurel after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s.

            Visitation will be held on Monday, November 20, 2023 from 10:00am until 11:00am at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 113 Front Street, Taylorsville, Mississippi.  A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 20, 2023 at 11:30am at Fellowship Cemetery in Taylorsville, Mississippi. Bro. Frankie Clark will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Taylorsville is in charge of arrangements. 601-785-6564

            She was a member of First Baptist Church of Taylorsville. She worked in the banking industry for over 40 years at Smith County Bank and Trustmark National Bank where she advanced to Executive Vice President before she retired.

            She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Henry Derol Butler; father, Leroy Grice; mother, Jerlene Grice Broadway; and sister, Mary Culpepper.

            Survivors include her son, Greg Butler (Melissa) of Ellisville, MS; daughters, Pam Day (Larry) of Moselle, MS and Lisa Harrison (Ken) of Waynesboro, MS; grandchildren, Brett Cassell (Heather) of Longmont, CO, Matt Cassell (Amanda) of Meridian, MS, Hannah Carter of Petal, MS, Bess Butler (Matt Wombacher) of Scottsdale, AZ, Kenny Carter (Ashley) of Moselle, MS and Lee Butler of Brentwood, TN; six great grandchildren; sisters, Kendall Johns of Taylorsville, MS and Cheryl Lamulle (David) of Abita Springs, LA; and a host of nieces and nephews.

          Pallbearers will be Brett Cassell, Matt Cassell, Kenny Carter, and Lee Butler.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
