Sam Britton with the Public Service Commission along with Cindy Stanley, Staff met before the Board of Supervisors during their regular schedule meeting Monday, December 5, 2016. Mr. Britton let the board know if they had any concerns to feel free to contact him or anyone within his staff. He advised he was there to assist with any issues that he could.

Charlie Valadie, City of Magee Fire Marshall/Simpson  County Fire Coordinator,  came before the board presenting the new fire rating for some of the local fire departments. Mr. Valadie also asked the board to approve the lifting of the burn ban. With the amount of rain that has been received, he, along with other fire chiefs and forestry department personal,  felt lifting the ban would be safe.  Charlie also mentioned the governor had lifted his partial burn ban  Friday, December 2nd, for the state.
