In police matters, Chief Randy Crawford met before the board to ask permission to hire John Burt, as a part time officer. Mr. Burk is new to the community, works as security at Colin, and previously full time with Oxford police and University Campus, as well as part time with US Marshall. Board agreed and approved the hiring of Mr. Burt. Chief Crawford also asked permission to hire Keziah Allan, as a part time dispatch and jailer. Board approved the hire.

Board discussed a letter from the Simpson County School District concerning building permits regarding the  new elementary school. Board considered allowing the engineer of record to sign off as special inspector. The board requested additional information before giving the ok.  City officials are to contact  the county school office to review the blueprints and plans for the new building. Until the information is received, the alderman tabled the matter.

With no further business, the meeting to the public was adjourned and the board went into executive session.
