“The Secretary of State is charged with overseeing and implementing policies that impact the business community in a significant way,” said Derek Easley, BIPEC President & CEO. “As Mississippi’s next Secretary of State, Michael Watson’s administration is committed to supporting businesses development and growth of our economy.”

Michael Watson stated, “I’m honored to be named Best for Business & Jobs by BIPEC in my race for Secretary of State. While serving as a State Senator, I focused heavily on supporting legislation that provided lower taxes, fewer regulations, and more economic growth opportunities for everyone in our state. I’ll bring that same focus to the Secretary of State’s office along with an emphasis on making state government more responsive to the citizens we serve.”

BIPEC is a 501c6 membership organization founded in 1980 by Mississippi’s business and professional leaders. BIPEC is a nonprofit association comprised of individuals, trade associations, and companies who unite to protect and advance free enterprise through research, education, and member action. BIPEC disseminates credible research findings to BIPEC members, educates BIPEC’s membership network on the impact that legislator and judge-made decisions have on Mississippi’s economic growth, business attractiveness and general prosperity of the State’s employers.
