Betty Ruth Welch Breeden, 74, a resident of Mendenhall, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at home October 10, 2023 with her family by her side.  Betty was born on January 7, 1949, to the late Wilfred Welch, Sr. and Bessie Welch.

  She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilfred Sr. and Bessie and her sister, Peggy McDaniel.  She leaves behind her husband of 28 years, Clyde Breeden.  One brother, Wilfred Welch, Jr. of Laurel, Mississippi. Two daughters, Jena Arnold of Canton, Mississippi and Kelli Freels (John) of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi.  Two step-sons, Scott Breeden and Wesley Breeden (Kim) of Puckett, Mississippi.  Her grandchildren Austin Cain (Lauren) of Crystal Springs, Amber Cain Varner (Will) of Jackson and Emily Cain of Florence and a step-grandson Tyler Breeden of Puckett.

  Betty was raised in Franklinton, Louisiana where she graduated from Franklinton High School and later made her home in central Mississippi.  She spent her early years working for Mississippi Valley Gas before settling in to her career as an O S & D clerk in the trucking industry, retiring and spending her final years with Southeastern Freightways.

  She spent time bowling where she competed in league play for many years.  However, her love of fishing she got from her father and passed on to Kelli and her grandchildren were some of her favorite times.  She never missed an activity that one of her grandchildren were involved in even in her hardest times.  Her presence was and will always be felt.  She had a special love for all of her fur babies that was unmatched.

Memorial visitation will be held on Friday, October 13, 2023 from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall. Memorial services will be held on Friday, October 13, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall. Bro. Steve White will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements. 601-847-4401

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Mississippi Spay and Neuter 657 Hwy 49, Richland, MS 39218. 601-420-2438
